The day(s) after

We just celebrated something that is a pretty big deal. A man rose from the dead. Our God died for us in human form and then came back to life.

The days after he did things like appear to people. He appeared to people like Mary Magdelene.

He appeared to people walking along a road and told him all about why this all happened.

He appeared to people and broke bread with them.

He appeared to people and told them to tell others about Him.

In the glow of Easter it may be difficult to think we put other things in the place of God. It may be difficult to believe that we put our confidence in something or anything other than the God who went as far as death for us and has the power to raise himself again.

It may be difficult to fathom but we do.

Or maybe you are like me and you have no problem imagining it because you already put 6 things in the place of God. Maybe you are like me and you put your confidence in and confide in things so much smaller than God. It may be good things that you put in that place like a hubby or kids.

In May (acutally starting on April 28th) we will take a look at all those things we confide in, those things our hearts cling to, the things we have confidence in over and above our God who went as far as death and new life to have a relationship with us.

I hope you will join me as we look at how those things may throw off the balance in our lives and our lives may get messy BUT…more importantly we will look at WHO keeps our lives right where they need to be. We will look at what life looks like in the glow of Easter.
